Thermoplastic materials selection

Any chemical compound that, when added to thermoplastic material, selectively absorbs ultraviolet rays. Process in which surfaces are thinly coated with metal by exposing them to the vapor of metal that has been evaporated under vacuum (one millionth of normal atmospheric pressure).

This chapter is not intended to be a substitute for a comprehensive training program in materials science or plastics engineering. Rather, it is intended to highlight some key issues, in order to bring some clarity to the complex world of thermoplastic material selection.

I would argue that an understanding of the resin business is a fundamental component in thermoplastic material selection.
