Thermomechanical pulp sample

Commercial Masonite and Asplund boards and the asphalt-impregnated insulation board were sampled before any commercial heat treatment. The corresponding "thermomechanical" pulps had been produced by pressurized refining of steamed chips. The higher pre-steaming temperature used in the Masonite process resulted In a yield of about 85% as compared to a fiber yield of about 94% of the Asplund pulps, the remainder being dissolved. [Pg.384]

Pulps. The spruce thermomechanical pulp (TMP) was obtained from Consolidated Papers Inc., Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. This pulp is sample 4 in Table I. Samples 5, 6, and 7 were the results of various bleaching treatments. [Pg.32]

Virgin nylon 6 and nylon 6 PCC were compounded with different pulps and injection molded. In most cases these samples were prepared by dry blending, injection molding, coarse grinding and injection molding again. All the wood species (flour, thermomechanical pulp (TMP), kraftpulp and newsprint) increased the modulus and strength of the injection molded carpet samples - see Table 13.5. [Pg.208]
