Thermo-mechanical fatigue - the route to standardisation TMF-STANDARD

Thermo-mechanical fatigue - the route to standardisation (TMF-STANDARD) [Pg.384]

These thermally induced loadings are simulated by strain controlled TMF tests in such a way that the temperature-time path occurring, e.g. at location or of the component, is imposed on the gauge section of a laboratory specimen. At the same time the mechanical loading which results from the constraint of the local thermal strain is imposed on the specimen by controlling the total strain in an adequate way  [Pg.384]

7 Thermally induced loadings at a cooled turbine blade and their simulation by TMF testing. [Pg.385]

From these basic considerations about TMF testing, it is concluded that there are various challenges in conducting such experiments, which go far beyond the practicalities of isothermal low-cycle fatigue (LCF) experiments, such as  [Pg.385]
