INEOS chlor offers both precious metal and nickel alloy coatings [192]. The precious metal coatings are deposited on a nickel substrate, and the electrocatalytically active layers are applied to the smface by thermal deposition or electroplating. Thermal spraying or vacuum deposition techniques form the nickel-alloy coating. These materials have been used in the FM 21 electrolyzers for over four membrane cycles. 

Batch coating of steel hardware with aluminum to form aluminum-iron alloy coatings is also done by hot dipping or cementation. Pure aluminum coatings are applied on a batch basis by thermal spray, ion plating, and electroplating from nonaqueous solvents.

Inframat Corporation (2003a) had demonstrated that WC/Co-Ni nanocoating could be obtained via electrocodeposition of WC/Co nanoparticles from a nickel sulfamate colloidal solution. Copper has a widespread use for kitchen utensils, as thermal and electric conductors, and in sanitation. Copper solutions are used in various industrial processes such as electroplating, printed circuit production, textile production, and as catalysts in various chemical processes. Sprays containing copper sulfate are sometimes used in agriculture (vineyards).
