Thermal restructuring

Need for R D in terms of developing catalysts that are robust enough to resist thermal restructuring (i.e. exceptional spinels)...

These values show clearly the thermal restructuring of bipotassium salicylate in parahydroxybenzoic acid, as shown in figure 3. 

We have also carried out some unpublished studies on the temperature dependence of hydrophobic recovery of plasma treated PDMS. The activation energy of this thermal restructuring process is 44 kJ/mol. This is more than the activation energy of viscous flow of PDMS (15 kJ/mol) 2 but much less than the only similar measurement of which we are aware for a carboxylic acid functionalized polyethylene surface (210 kJ/mol). ...

In addition to requiring nucleating agents to promote crystallization, glass ceramics usually must be heat-treated at the critical nucleating, crystallization, and annealing temperatures to restructure the glass (Fig. 1). These temperatures can be conveniently determined, to a first approximation, by differential thermal analysis (DTA)i (Fig. 2). 

These results show that the ammonia hydrothermal process would not only restructure the nanostructure of the silica into a highly ordered nanostructure, but would also increase the thermal and hydrothermal stability of the nanostructure.
