Theae folium

The water extract from Theae folium (green tea) contains manganese com-plexed by a pectin-like polysaccharide [70]. Administration of a preparation of this extract resulted in an increased signal of the stomach contents in -weighted imaging [70]. Manganese(II) pectin also showed contrast-enhancing activity in phantoms [71]. 

TEA, Theae folium The tea plant is Camellia sinensis L., belonging to the family Theaceae, from which two kinds of tea are prepared fermented black tea and unfermented green tea. Tea plantations are found mainly in Sri Lanka, India, China and Japan nowadays also in Kenya and South America.

Theae folium (3) four mainly yellow fluorescent flavonoid glycosides in the R, range of hyperoside and rutin (Tl) and two flavonoid glycoside zones at R, 0.2.5-0.3 with yellow and green fluorescence, respectively. 

IJ (System D) Saponines (aescin T4) respond as blue-violet zones to AS reagent (vis). In Male folium (2) the main triterpene saponins are seen as six blue-violet zones in the R, range 0.4-0.8. In Theae folium (3) broad bands of yellow-brown zones from the start till R, - 0.4 ( thea flavines ) dominate in tire lower Rf range. 

Method of preparation Decoct the first seven ingredients for not more than 10 minutes and then add the Mint and Folium Camelliae Theae Qing Cha, Green Tea) and allow to steep.
