The Self-Audit Checklist

Questions from the self audit checklist, used as the basis for the WRAM s checklist, were reworked into a question and answer format. [Pg.185]

The waste reduction options included within the study were also incorporated into the checklist. A two column format was chosen to provide more information on the proposed option. The left column contains the question from the checklist and the preferred answer, which is highlighted. The right column provides an explanation of the potential benefit associated with the option, or a description of the option. The options addressed by the checklist were then tabulated and are included in Appendix A. [Pg.185]

The checklist is divided into three areas 1) Material Storage and Handling, 2) Production Processes and 3) Treatment Alternatives. Material degradation, samples, spills, storage, and inspections are addressed in the first section. Production processes include source reduction for process bath solutions and rinse systems, resource recovery and recycling, and solvent management. Treatment Alternatives focuses on process water pretreatment, modification of conventional wastewater treatment, and alternative waste treatment methods. Each of these subsections follow the question and answer format. [Pg.185]
