The Organometallic Route to PEDOT

First organometallic PEDOT-synthesis from 2,5-dichloro-EDOT. [Pg.74]

In a subsequent publication, more details about the PEDOT, prepared by Ni(COD)-catalyzed reductive polycondensation of DCEDOT were reported. Although an infrared spectrum similar to the spectra of other more or less undoped PEDOT materials was obtained, the nature of the isolated material remains unclear. The black color and its insolubility do not correspond to a typical, completely undoped PEEXDT. [Pg.75]

No molecular weights were reported. Interestingly, the ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrum of the oxidatively prepared undoped PEDOT (see Section 6.4) exhibits a value of 451 nm, exactly compatible to the main peak.  [Pg.75]

The organometallic route—in this case dechlorination polycondensation of the 2,5-dichlorothiophene, catalyzed by a nickel(0)-COD-2,2 -bipyridyl complex— was also applied in the synthesis of n-hexyl-PEDOT. ° A practically fully undoped material was obtained. So H-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) [Pg.75]
