The chlor-alkall industry

NAFION has all the advantages of an Insoluble catalyst but also has Important Inherent properties a chemically Inert polymeric framework and higher thermal stability. It will be Interesting to see If NAFION and other PFIEP s will grow beyond their Initial applications In the chlor-alkall Industry and find applications In the marketplace as catalyst or unique support for catalysis. 

For the past ten years, three technologies have computed within the chlor-alkall Industry[1,3,20,21]. The oldest Is the mercury cell where 35% brine Is electrolyzed In an undivided cell with a mercury cathode. The electrode reactions are...
