Thallium complexes amines

Oxidative phenolic coupling. Biosynthesis of the alkaloid narwedine (3) is known to involve oxidative phenolic coupling of norbelladine derivatives (1), but the usual oxidants for such coupling in vitro convert 1(R = H) into the oxomaritidine skeleton (4) rather than 3. A new biomimetic synthesis of 3 involves the palladacycle 2, formed by reaction of 1(R = CH3) with Li2PdCl4, which is known to form complexes with allylic amines or sulfides (8,176-177). Oxidation of 2 with thallium(III) trifluoroacetate effects the desired coupling to give 3. [Pg.142]

Intramolecular electron transfer in a stepwise manner from the amine substrate to die silver(III) center in a 1 2 complex, [Ag(OH)4] -iV,/V-dimcthylanilinc, has been observed.44 The kinetics of oxidation of some aliphatic, heterocyclic, and aromatic aldehydes towards bis(dihydrogentellurato)cuprate(III) and argentate(III) in alkaline medium have been studied.45 A negative salt effect was observed in the oxidation of aminoacetic acid by diperiodatocuprate(III) complex in alkaline medium.46 The oxidation of glutamic acid by thallium(III) perchlorate is catalysed by Ru(M), Os(III), and Nd(III) in a free radical mechanism and the rate is inversely dependent on [H+] concentration.47... [Pg.183]

The thallium(III) halides, TIX3 (X = Cl, Br, I), form complexes with amines (L)with formulas TDCs -Ln, where n = 1-3. Among the most studied complexes with this ligand stoichiometry are the neutral monomeric species TIX3 L2, where X = Cl or Br, the halide-bridged dimers... [Pg.4828]

Thallium(Il) complexes, 171 Thallium(III) complexes, 171 amines, 172 ammines, 172 aqua, 172 bipyridyl, 172 bromates, 173 bromides, 174 carboxylates, 173 chlorates, 173 chlorides, 174 cyanides, 171 dichlorophosphates, 173 ethers, 173... [Pg.3309]

Several other useful reviews of reactions involving metal ions have also been published. Redox reactions of chromium(m)-amine species have been described and a survey has been made of the solution chemistry together with reaction paths involved in the redox reactions of various plutonium species. Oxidation reactions of thallium(m) have also been described. Developments in the redox chemistry of peroxides have been reviewed, the nature of the reactions which involve iron(iii) in various complexed forms providing a fascinating example of the manner in which geometry and co-ordination to the metal centre greatly affect the reactivity of the system. Redox properties of cobalt chelates, with delocalized... [Pg.3]
