Der RingschluB von 2-Acyl-l-oxo- bzw. 2-Carboxy-l-oxo-cyclohexanen mit Hydrazinen fiihrt zu 4,5,6,7-Tetrahydro-lH-indazolen, z. B. Da die resultierenden Verbindungcn keine Indazole sind, wird diese Methode auf S. 417, 433 (Pyrazole) beschrieben. 

Indazoles were prepared by many different methods. Indazoles 41 were synthesized from nitroaromatics 39 and N-tosylhydrazones 40 with bases (14CC5061).
