2,2 :6 ,2"-Terpyridinium hydrochloride chlorochromate

Other bipyridyl-related systems (7 and 8) have been found to be less effective for the oxidation of al-cohols.i 2,2 6, 2 -Terpyridinium hydrochloride chlorochromate (9) has also been prepared and found to be inert under standard conditions. It has been suggested that the steric bulk prevents effective electron transfer.
