Termination less polymerization

A polymeric structure is also observed in the adduct LE 2I2 (LE = 4,5-6z s(bromomethyl)l,3-dithiole-2-thione). LE-I2- I2 bent-shaped units, which are typical in discrete extended spoke adducts with 1 2 (LE/I2) stoichiometry, are joined head-to-tail by soft-soft I- -I interactions involving the terminal iodide atom of the LE-I2 moiety and the terminal iodide atom of the second coordinated di-iodine molecule.37... [Pg.490]

Studies on another H. pylori strain, serostrain 0 3, that also raised strain-specific antisera, yielded the polymeric Le O-chain units terminated by a Le or Le. as previously found in the elongated O-chains from H. pylori type strain and P466, respectively. The LPS of H. pylori 0 3 was also shown to earn a heptoglycan domain similar to tliat observed in strains MO 19 and 0 6. Hence. H. pylori 0 3 shared all the strnctural features present in strains previously discussed, namely, a polymeric fucosylated type-2 polyLacNAc O-chain and a heptoglycan region. [Pg.124]
