Temporary Removal of Lockout Device during Servicing 

In the event a lockout device must be temporarily removed and the machine or equipment energized to test or position the machine, the authorized employee shall ensure safety in the following manner  

Clear the machine or equipment of tools or materials and remove employees from the area. 

Energize the machine or equipment and proceed with testing or positioning. 

De-energize all systems and reapply energy control measures by following the lockout procedure to continue work.
