Tellurinium Salts

47f-Tellurins were converted to tellurinium hexafluorophosphates in degassed, refluxing glacial acetic acid in the presence of hexafluorophosphoric acid  

A slurry of 2,6-diphenyl-4-oxo-4//-tellurin and a 2,6-diphenyl-4-methylchalcogeninium salt in acetic anhydride heated on a steam bath formed 4-[(2,6-diphenyl-4/f-chalcogenin-4-ylidene)-methyl]-2,6-diphenyltellurinium salts.
