Technology watch

Transverse studies for the acceptability and credibility of a future hydrogen economy (technology watch, techno-socio-economic studies, safety, etc.). [Pg.92]

Encourage and organise a related network of experts, including technology watch... [Pg.126]

Ensure a constant technology watch on coupling tools developed outside PRISM... [Pg.126]

R + D + i Activities. The management process of research, development and innovation begins with the application of tools as technology watch, technology foresight, creativity, and internal and external analysis. These techniques allow to identify problems and opportunities by analyzing the... [Pg.125]

The topic of spreading rates is of importance in the technology of the use of mono-layers for evaporation control (see Section IV-6) it is also important, in the opposite sense, in the lubrication of fine bearings, as in watches, where it is necessary that the small drop of oil remain in place and not be dissipated by spreading. Zisman and coworkers have found that spreading rates can be enhanced or reduced by the presence of small amounts of impurities in particular, strongly adsorbed surfactants can form a film over which the oil will not spread [48]. [Pg.111]

Most continuous pressure filters available (ca 1993) have their roots in vacuum filtration technology. A rotary dmm or rotary disk vacuum filter can be adapted to pressure by enclosing it in a pressure cover however, the disadvantages of this measure are evident. The enclosure is a pressure vessel which is heavy and expensive, the progress of filtration cannot be watched, and the removal of the cake from the vessel is difficult. Other complications of this method are caused by the necessity of arranging for two or more differential pressures between the inside and outside of the filter, which requires a troublesome system of pressure regulating valves. [Pg.405]

Analytical instruments play an increasingly important role in modern analytical chemistry. The trend is not limited in chemistry but in all phases of natural science and technology, as one easily can watch in rapid progresses in molecular biology, nano-materials technology, and the related bio-medical reseai ch. Instiaimental developments can now even be a determining factor in the advancement of science itself. [Pg.23]

The industry has its technological roots in the precision mechanics technology, in particular in Switzerland, in Germany and in some French regions (the former watch-making regions). [Pg.15]
