Techniques Into a Collapsed Anterior Chamber

Injection Technique into a Collapsed Anterior Chamber [Pg.51]

In contrast to the above technique, OVD injection begins during introduction of the cannula into the access port on its way into the intraocular space (Fig. 49) in order to move the iris towards the lens. [Pg.51]

Further deposits are then applied along the circumference of the iris so as to displace the entire access to the area behind the iris. An inverted pupillary block is achieved, to an extent, which then allows the anterior chamber to deepen at the expense of the posterior chamber. Only now is the remaining anterior chamber space filled with viscoelastic. [Pg.51]

ATTENTION OVD injection opposite to the opening will push the iris either up or down peripherally. If it remains behind the iris, viscoelastic might press the iris upwards towards the access port (Fig. 50). Furthermore, viscoelastic in the retroiridal space is cumbersome to remove. [Pg.51]
