Tank truck pressure gauge

Many suppliers of sulfuric acid recommend that it is stored in pressure vessels designed to withstand a gauge pressure of 30 psi (2 bar). The acid is usually discharged from tank trucks by compressed air, and if the vent is ehoked the vessel could be subjected to the full pressure of the compressed air. [Pg.304]

Compressor cut-off, also known as governor cutout. Once the pressure reaches a specified pressure, the governor should stop the flow of the air from the compressor to the truck s air tanks. This should cause the air pressure gauges to stop climbing. The pressure at which this occurs should be the same every time the air pressure is built up. [Pg.878]

The fuel pressure gauge on the tank reads from 0 to 6,000 pounds per square inch (PSI). A full tank should register at 3,000 PSI on the gauge, the maximum working pressure. When the pressure drops below 500 PSI, the truck should be refueled. In the event the filling station malfunctions, a safety relief valve built into the line is designed to activate at 5,000 PSI. [Pg.308]

Liquid Filter and Pressure Gauges A filter should be placed in the piping between the tank car or tank truck and the storage tank. A cartridge with a 20- or 30-micron glass fiber element is recommended. [Pg.187]

Liquefied petroleum gas is authorized for shipment in truck or truck-trailer cargo tanks that comply with TC/DOT specifications MC-330 or MC-331. Various design pressures may be used, but the gauge vapor pressure at 115°F (46.1°C) of a shipment must not exceed the tank s design pressure. [Pg.459]
