Tablet hypodermic

Tablets, hypodermic Molded tablet triturates intended to be dissolved in water to make a solution to be injected parenterally. The usual weight of hypodermic tablets is about 0.03 g, which distinguishes them from ordinary tablet triturates that weigh about 0.06 g. Formerly prepared extemporaneously by pharmacists, modern compressed hypodermic tablets are not intended to be sterile, although they are manufactured under strict conditions as a precaution against contamination (see Triturates, tablet) ...

Also used for parenteral administration called hypodermic tablets e.g. atropine sulphate tablets. 

A charge-transfer spectrophotometric method has been developed for unit-dose assay of the tropane alkaloids and some of their synthetic analogues. The high molar adsorptivities of the charge-transfer bands of the alkaloids with iodine in ethylene chloride give high precision even at low doses, such as in hypodermic and pediatric tablets. 

The hardness of a tablet is manipulated by adjusting the constituent proportions of sugars. Two forms of these tablets can be made one is called a hypodermic tablet, it easily dissolves in water and is not a hard tablet. These types of tablets break down (mechanically) very easily during storage and transport. The second type is harder and retains its shape in transport. A general formula for hard tablets appears in Remington s Practice of Pharmacy five parts lactose to one part sucrose. The composition is moistened with 70% alcohol and mixed thoroughly. 

Equipment for the manufacture of pills, compressed tablets and hypodermic tablets. 

The manufacture of Hypodermic Tablets shall be conducted under aseptic conditions in a separate air conditioning room, the walls of which shall be smooth and washable. The granulation, tableting and packing shall be done in this room. 

For Hypodermic tablets and ophthalmic preparations, which are required to be manufactured under aseptic conditions, records shall be maintained indicating the precautions taken during the process of manufacture to insure the process of manufacture to insure that aseptic conditions are maintained.
