Synthesis of Emotional and Expressive Speech

We are only in the very early stages of research into emotion in speech in general and speech synthesis in particular. As such much ciurent interest involves database collection and analysis [22], [34], [81], [82], [112], [130] and ways to describe and control emotion [150]. The study of emotion and expression in speech synthesis will certainly grow into a rich and exciting major topic of research.
