Synergism, rheological

Walker CV, Wells JL Rheological synergism between ionic and non-ionic cellulose gums. Int Pharm 1982 11 309-322. [Pg.823]

It is difficult to clearly establish the role of additives since they can produce competitive or synergic effects affecting the rheological properties of the slurry. The most commonly used additives are binders and surfactants. Usual binders are colloidal silica or alumina. Alumina is more thermostable but can increase the acidity of the catalyst. Whatever the chosen binder, the minimum amount should be added [75]. Almeida et al. [9] studied the influence of the slurry composition on viscosity, load, and adherence of washcoated Fecralloy monoliths. They verified how colloidal alumina increased viscosity... [Pg.91]

Whenever the PE-mucin interaction produces a rheological synergism in the mixture a hardening of the gel in the corresponding interface will be observed. [Pg.240]

The rheological properties are mainly controlled by the solid content of the slurry and the peptization step (pH and additives) [33]. But, as mentioned above, the role of additives (organics or inorganics) is complex producing synergic or competitive effects in the process variables. Table 2 resumes studies of the influence of these variables on... [Pg.29]
