SWELLING (DIMENSIONAL INSTABILITY), PRESSURE DEVELOPMENT, AND BUCKLING [Pg.386]

L = initial dimension (tangential direction or radial direction) at certain moisture content, [Pg.386]

C = coefficient of dimensional change in tangential (Cj) or radial (Cr) direction. [Pg.386]

Coefficient C numerically is a percent-dimensional change (AL/L) at 1% change in moistnre content in the material. Several examples of the values of these two coefficients are given in Table 12.3. [Pg.386]

TABLE 12.3 Coefficients for dimensional change of wood within the range of moisture content of 6-14% [5] [Pg.387]
