Surface and nucleation frequencies

Since the amounts of materials involved with nucleation are often veiy low, we prefer to use the nucleation frequency F instead of the rate, which is the number of 

the specific frequency has the same variables as the surface rate of nucleation, which are the temperature and partial pressure via oversaturation. The pseudo-steady state modes leads to surface frequencies of nucleation independent of time with isothermal and isobaric conditions.
