The simplest supramolecules built from Mo2 units, referred to as pairs, are of two distinct types. Those with dicarboxylate or diamidate linkers generally have the M02 units parallel or nearly so (Fig. 2a), whereas the moleeules with tetrahedral oxoanions E04 as linkers have the M02 units orthogonally disposed (Fig. 2b). The trigonal molecular propeller (Fig. 2c) is a molecule that forms with a tricarboxylate such as trimesate. [Pg.82]
