Symbiospirols A-C are new super-carbon-chain compounds (SCCs) isolated from a cultured Symbiodinium sp. symbiont of the platyhelminth Amphiscolops sp. (see Chapter 21). All symbiospirols have C67-linear chains with two imusual l,6-dioxaspiro[4,4]nonane rings. The major compound, symbiospirol A, has no cytotoxic or antifungal activities, and ichthyotoxicity has not been mentioned (Tsrmematsu et al., 2009). [Pg.243]
