The carburization of molybdenum oxide at 1500°C produces a carbide powder but the carbon content is difficult to control. A preferred process is the direct heating of the metal and carbon in the form of powders in hydrogen at q)proximately 15(KH (see Chs. 14 and 15). [Pg.112]

The only phase of industrial importance is the P-M02C. Industrial applications are limited to special grades of cemented carbides. M02C is found in steel alloys where it is formed during melting (see Ch. 16). [Pg.112]
