Sultopride Hydrochloride

Chemical Name N-(1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidylmethyl)-2-methoxy-5-ethylsulfonylbenzamide hydrochloride [Pg.1432]

The monotosylationof 2,5-dlhydroxybenzenesulfonicacid is carried out in a pyridine medium by treating it with tosyl chloride, thus preferably isolating the 2-hydroxy-5-tosyloxybenzene-sulfonic acid, pyridine salt. This product subjected to reflux with an alcoholic solution of piperazine yields 2-hydroxy-5-tosyloxybenzenesulfonic acid, piperazine salt. [Pg.1434]
