Sulfur, Selenium and Tellurium Donors

The complexes LW[S2P(OR)2](CO)2, where L = hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-l-yl)borate, R = Et or Pr, have vP=S 634-638 cm , vP-S 544 cm and vP-Oaikyi 956-979 cm-h The IR spectra of WCl(CO)3(bipy)(HgCl)L, where L = thiourea or substituted derivative, show that L is coordinated through the sulfur atom. Structure (83) has vCN at 1552 cm, Le. higher than in the free ligand. ° [Pg.343]

An IR band at 441 cm was assigned for Cs2[Cu2P2S6]. The VS2CN band of the dithiocarbamate in (86), where R = aUcyl or aryl, is consistent with symmetric bidentate chelation by the dithiocarbamate. The IR spectra of argon or N2 cryogenic matrices containing silver atoms and thiourea gave evidence for 5-bonded Ag[SC(NH2)2] species.  [Pg.343]

The IR spectrum of Rb4Su2Ag4(P2Se6)3 contains characteristic PSes modes over a wide wavenumber range (500-166 cm ). The complex (87), where SR = S2CNEt2, shows vCN of the S2CNEt2 ligand at 1482 [Pg.344]

The IR and Raman spectra of HgX2L2, where X = C1, Br or I, L = N,N-dimethylthio-formamide gave assignments to ligand modes for the 5-coordinated [Pg.344]

The complexes [Ln(dmit)(phen)2Cl3] -, where Ln = La, Nd, Sm, Gd, Er or Y, dmit - = l,3-dithiole-2-thione-4,5-dithiolate anion, have IR bands showing bi-dentate coordination of the dmit (vCS near 1050, 1030 cm-i vCC near 1380 and 1345 cm 1).46 7 Resonance enhancement of Raman bands for Sm(SePh)3 and Yb(SePh)3 (850-950 cm-i) can be ascribed to vibronic coupling between phenyl modes and a CT transition 468 [Pg.344]

Pentahalides form essentially 1 1 adducts with sulfur, selenium, and tellurium donors, including phosphine sulfides and selenides. IR, Raman (see Raman Spectroscope, and NMR studies of the complexes formed with mixed-donor 0,S ligands showed bonding to occur via sulfur exclusively. The ionic [NbCl4()] -S2R2)][NbCle] complexes are volatile and act as a single-source precursor to mixed-Nb2 05/NbS2 films... [Pg.2931]

The most important examples of this class are the halides, alkoxides, and amides, but derivatives with phosphorus, sulfur, selenium, and tellurium donors are also synthetically useful. Most hydrocarbyl functionalities are accessible from halide and alkoxide precursors. [Pg.48]
