Sulfur amino acids testosterone

The guinea pig seminal vesicle fluid (Table 2) also had a high concentration of taurine but an even higher concentration of hypotaurine. Castration for 36 days resulted in a complete absence of fluid but after three and six days, the fluid content was still nearly normal and small changes were observed in both compounds. The other sulfur amino acids were in low concentration with glutathione non-detectable. Testosterone treatment for 21 days restored the fluid volume to the normal level with concomitant reappearance of normal concentrations of the sulfur compounds. [Pg.214]
