However, this relationship was found only with regard to the pancreatic tissue of mammalians. In the studies in frogs, despite marked seasonal differences between insulin secretion in the fasting and in the stimulated state, the pancreatic insulin content remained unchang-> ed (Telib (1967)). Obviously, in this species in certain annual periods the capacity of the Q-cells to respond to stimulators is blocked while the basic insulin secretion is sufficient for providing normal glycogen reserves in muscles and liver tissue (Hanke and Beroerhoff. unpubl.)...
