In addition to the above, preparation in w/o microemulsions of nanoparticles of various other types of compounds, viz. silica-coated iron oxide, Fe203-Ag nanocomposite, oxides of ytrium, erbium, neodymium, vanadium and cobalt, titanates of barium and lead, ferrites of barium, strontium, manganese, cobalt and zinc, oxide superconductors, aluminates, zirconium silicate, barium tungstate, phosphates of calcium, aluminium and zinc, carbonates of calcium and barium, sulphides of molybdenum and sodium, selenides of cadmium and silver etc. have been reported. Preparative sources and related elaboration can be found in [24]. [Pg.193]

Sapphire substrates, for II-Vl or III-V applications, can be found through the 100 mm range. Whereas, ZnSe, ZnTe, and GaN are found in the 1 cm range in research quantities. Efforts on ZnSe and related substrates increased with the demonstration of blue lasers in this material system. However, those efforts are foreshadowed by the blue LED and laser results in GaN. Presently there are several major research efforts underway to produce large area GaN substrates. The nitride substrate development effort also is motivated by high power, temperature and frequency device applications. For superconductors, lanthanum aluminate, strontium titanate, magnesium oxide, and other related substrates are found in the few to tens of square centimeter ranges. [Pg.226]

The mechanism of formation of the double-perovskite layered aluminates was investigated for the series of Ln2SrAl20y (Ln=La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Ho) [61-65,29] in the temperature range of 1000-1500°C for the reaction of the binary oxides and strontium carbonate ... [Pg.349]

This method is useful in the preparation of perovskite type oxides and other complex oxides as they allow to obtain pure phase products and to control their stoichiometry. Neodymium aluminates NdAlOs and gadolinium strontium aluminates Gdi.xSrxA103 were synthesized [26, 27, 34-36]... [Pg.547]
