Stressors inside and outside the workplace

In this section we take a brief look at the links between health in the workplace and health outside work. It is sometimes difficult to decide the extent to which health problems are due to the workplace or to life outside work (lifestyle) factors. 

The words work-related are used in two w s. Some people use them to describe conditions which are caused almost entirely by factors at work. However, others use the words work-related to mean conditions such as the following  

We will use work-caused for those conditions which are almost completely caused by workplace factors. 

Medical factors conducive to work-related ill health and 

Some individual medical factors may lead to increased work-related ill health, disability
