Acids should be stored in cabinets made of plastic or wood, as described in Section 8.2.1. Reactive materials must be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Water-reactive materials should not be stored directly under fire-sprinklers ( ) and there may be code requirements for these compounds. Some compounds, such as organic peroxides, may need to be stored under refrigerated conditions and it is imperative that these only be stored in spark-proof or explosion-proof refrigerators. Conversely, it may increase the hazard if some organic peroxides are stored at too low a temperature. Therefore, it is important to adhere to the recommended storage requirements for specific reactive chemicals. 

Selection of a name for a specific compound is heavily influenced by the purpose at hand communication to a general audience, communication with specialists, or storage/retrieval through archival indexes. The first requires the simplest rules possible the second requires the shortest names possible and the third requires rigid adherence to a set of rules that will reliably generate a unique name. The name chosen may be different for each situation, although that is not necessarily so. 

The manufacturer should communicate all relevant conditions for storage and transportation to those responsible for the transportation of phanna-ceutical products. Such an entity(-ies) should ensure adherence to these requirements throughout transportation and at any intermediate storage stages. 

If the adhering impurities are substances constituting a hazard to water (oils, emulsions), then requirements on the storage of substances constituting a hazard to water must be eomplied with.
