An Order under the Act allows non-public bodies to be designated enforcers and lays down fhe conditions these bodies have to meet. The Act also refers to Community enforcers as entities from other EEA States that have been listed in the Official Journal of the EU. 

Enforcers who wish to apply for an enforcement order must first consult the person against whom the order is to be made and with OFT (unless the enforcer is the OFT). The OFT can take over the proceedings. An enforcement order can require a person or body not to

Because the BYPRODUCT is now being formed by a secondary reaction which is reversible, its formation can be inhibited by recycling BYPRODUCT as shown in Fig. 4.3a. In Fig. 4.3a, the BYPRODUCT formation is inhibited to the extent that it is effectively stopped. In Fig. 4.36 it is only reduced and the net BYPRODUCT formation removed. Again, the separation configuration will change between different processes as the order of volatility between the components changes.

Flow injection analysis (F1A). In this technique, introduced by Ruzicka and Hansen, a small amount of sample is injected into a liquid flow (see Fig. 5.16), which apart from being automated is normally continuous, but can include the use of stopped-flow, merging zones extraction techniques in addition to FIA scanning and methods based on intermittent pumping89. The principles of FIA and the versions just mentioned will now be briefly discussed on the basis of the excellent review of Ruzicka and Hansen89 in order to understand the appli-cational possibilities of electrochemical detection in this technique.

In order to estimate the flux through the SMM cycle and to explore its function, a computer model of methionine metabolism in mature Arabidopsis rosette leaves was developed based on data from radiotracer experiments and on metabolite contents. This model suggested that the cycle serves to stop accumulation of AdoMet, rather than to prevent depletion of free methionine, as proposed by Mudd and Datko.54 Because plants lack the AdoMet feedbacks on MTHFR and AdoMet synthetase that regulate AdoMet pool size in other eucaryotes, the SMM cycle may be the main mechanism whereby plants achieve short-term control of AdoMet level. MMT knockouts of maize and Arabidopsis recently became available, and these can now be used to further investigate the role of the SMM cycle, and to test the predictions of the model.
