In 1962, Hugo Stoltzenberg and his coworker Martin Leuschner (1913-1982) filed a patent on obscurants based on titanium and fluorocarbons and/or chloro-carbons that was pubhshed in 1965 [51]. In 1963, the IIT Research Institute located in Illinois Chicago issued a report under Air-Force contract on thermochemical properties of a large number of metal/oxidizer systems.
