Stereoselection addition to chiral aldehydes

Aldok Based on Asymmetric Aldehydes The aforementioned transition state models are playing a crucial role when stereoselective addition to chiral aldehydes with a- and/or p-substituents needs to be predicted. For aldehydes with an anti-relationship, both the FeUdn TS and the Comforth-Evans TS predict the same face selectivity. Consequently, such aldehydes exhibit excellent stereoselectivities. On the other hand, 2,3-syn aldehydes provide FeUdn and Comforth-Evans opposing situations, which often results in poor selectivities (Scheme 2.101). At this point, we have to point out that the literature holds a vast amount of examples with excellent selectivities in contrast to the earlier predicted analysis. [Pg.89]
