Measurement of Static Advancing and Receding Contact Angles on Nonporous Substrates 

The experimental runs were carried out in the following order  

The volume of the spreading drops should remain constant in the case of spreading over nonporous nitrocellulose surface. The constancy of the volume of the spreading drops was monitored during these experiments, which confirmed that the substrate used was nonporous.
