Standard deviation of effects

Calculations were made using both the above methods for a 4.Sl-cm-dlam tantalum rod in carbon. Mean values and standard deviations of effective cross sections and percentage cross-section changes with temperature at 300 eV are given in Table I. 

In toxicology, the median effective stress is the base 10 logarithm of the median effective dosage. "The PS equals the inverse of the standard deviation of effective stresses.
