Instrument manufacturers offer a variety of devices, including monitoring systems for standard process or for spot curing technology and systems for process control. Online UV radiometers can measure and display the peak intensity and total UV energy used in the process. More-advanced systems map the entire process and evaluate the lamp focus, reflector focus and reflector efficiency within a specific... [Pg.183]

Spot cure - A localized area being cured. Commonly used with repairs. [Pg.271]

One of the advantages of using a two-component room temperature curing adhesive system is that induction curing can be used to spot-cure the adhesive in a joint (similar to a spot-welding process). The adhesive that is not spot-cured by induction will then fully cure at room temperature as the part moves down the assembly line. [Pg.276]

The time required for gellation can be converted into energy by using a spot cure meter that measures and displays the intensity of the UV emitted within the bandwith 320-390 nm. Different formulations have been characterized using this apparatus. [Pg.610]

It is not the intention of this report to fully discuss UV-curing equipment, save to say that a wide range of systems are available with various wavelengths and intensities, with spot-curing and flood systems being available. Articles on equipment and dispensers have appeared in Adhesive and Sealants Industry Magazine [29, 30]. [Pg.36]
