Magnetic resonance imaging (MRl) is the best choice for imaging of spinal problems beyond the neonatal period. Patients suffering from cloacal exstrophy and coexisting myelomeningoceles can be evaluated for postoperative complications such as the tethered cord syndrome. In addition, in these patients MRI can be used for assessment of the pelvic floor, bladder, gonads, uterus, and rectum. [Pg.184]
