Sucralfate Sparfloxacin

Zix JA, Geerdes-Fenge HF, Rau M, Vockler J, Borner K, Koeppe P, Lode H. Pharmacokinetics of sparfloxacin and interaction with cisapride and sucralfate. Antimicrob Agents Chemother 1997 41(8) 1668-72. [Pg.1407]

Co-administration of sucralfate leads to a 44% reduction in the systemic availability of sparfloxacin (22). In eight healthy Japanese, the absorption of sparfloxacin (300 mg orally) was reduced when sucralfate (1.5 g orally) was administered concurrently or 2 hours after sparfloxacin, but not 4 hours after sparfloxacin (23). [Pg.3173]

Sucralfate causes a marked reduction in the absorption of ciprofloxacin, enoxacin, gemifloxacin, lomefloxacin, moxifloxacin, ofloxacin, norfloxacin and sparfloxacin, but only a modest reduction in fleroxacin levels. [Pg.341]

In a study in 15 healthy subjects sucralfate 1 g four times daily reduced the maximum serum levels, the AUC and the relative bioavailability of sparfloxacin 400 mg daily by 39%, 47%, and 44%, respectively. In a study assessing staggered dosing of sucralfate 1.5 g on the pharmacokinetics of sparfloxacin 300 mg, the AUC was unaffected when sucralfate was given 4 hours after the quinolone, but was decreased by 34% when given 2 hours before, and 51% when given at the same time as sucralfate. ... [Pg.341]
