Soup turtle

Turtles, tortoises or terrapin (for American freshwater turtles) are reptiles with a shell used as a house . The logger head and green sea turtles are caught commercially for their meat. In Germany turtle is mostly eaten in soup or stew. The meat of the so-called soup turtle (Chelonia mydas) is faintly red to bright red, and is marketed canned.
