The exponents on X in Eq. 8.23 and those in the correlations reported in Table 7A.3, Chapter 7A, are strikingly similar (0.11 and 0.13, respectively). This further supports the 2qs criterion for solid suspension elaborated earlier. 

As a result, the solid-liquid mass transfer resistance is likely to be insignificant and can be ignored. It can therefore be concluded that the catalytic reaction can achieve its intrinsic (maximum) rate in the venturi section.
