Contextual teaching enables slow learners to achieve higher results than would otherwise be possible. 

You as a teacher should be aware of the fact that there are slow as well as rapid learners. Activities and responsibilities should be so divided among the students as to be equally shared by both type of students without any feeling that they are slow learners or rapid learners. 

Consumers regularly underestimate the risks on mycotoxins (—>2.25), whereas they tend to overestimate the risk of food additives (—> 1.4,2.1,2.2,2.4,2.18,2.21). Old things are usually perceived safe, whereas new things are often looked upon with suspicion. Humans are slow learners. 

Figure 3.4 presents a fast learner who achieves the final performance level earlier than on average (dotted, highest curve), a so-called slow starter who needs more time and who shows an intermediate learning plateau (continuous, middle curve), and a learner who never achieves the required level and probably fails (striped, lowest curve). Ideally, the assessment system should optimally reflect the kind of learning curves depicted here, but our assessment system cannot produce these learning curves in the same way. 

In order to address learning needs of slow, moderate and advanced learners, the class size is kept to around 35 students. This ensures better coverage, monitoring, interaction and work assignment as per their needs. 

The presence of polymorphism in various behavioral traits stimulated investigations to prove the genetic cause of such polymorphisms. One of the first investigations was by Tolman (1924) who selectively bred fast and slow maze learners. However, these experiments did not demonstrate positive results, because the expected segregation was not obtained in the F2 progeny.
