Slotted mortar

The slotted mortar allows similar test procedures.

Low modulus polyester resin mortars have also been developed. They too cure rapidly. They are principally used to fill cable slots cut across asphalt runways and also to fill over PVC cable ducts installed in concrete runways and taxiways (Shaw, 1993b). 

Coated titanium expanded mesh ribbon mortared into slots chased into the concrete... 

This anode consists of an expanded titanium mesh with a catalytic mixed metal oxide coating. The anode is in the form of a ribbon about 13 mm wide. Slots are cut into the concrete typically on 300 mm centres. These are filled with mortar and the ribbon pushed into the slots as shown in Figure 7.12(a).

Several documents (e.g. ACI 440.2R-08 (ACI Committee 440,2008), FIB Bulletin 14 (FIB, 2001) and CAN/CSA S806-02 (CSA, 2002)) provide detailed guidance on the application of FRP strengthening systems.
