Skin moisture variations

No significant relationship between the IPP excreted and hand exposure was observed for the applicators wearing normal work clothing or for protective clothing (p = 0.09 and p = 0.73, respectively). Skin moisture variables did not contribute significantly to the explained variation. 

In Cosmetics. Amino acids and their derivatives occur in skin protein, and they exhibit a controlling or buffering effect of pH variation in skin and a bactericidal effect (216). Serine is one component of skin care cream or lotion. Ai-Acylglutamic acid triethanolamine monosalt is used for shampoo. Glucose glutamate is a moisturizing compound for hair and skin (234). 

At first glance it might seem a bizarre idea to improve a normal skin barrier. Can there be a better barrier than the normal barrier However, we know there is considerable individual variation. Marie Loden5 demonstrated that indeed some moisturizers improve barrier properties of normal skin. Sensitive skin is a multidimensional phenomenon but at least in part a weak SC barrier contributes... 

The epidermis of atopic skin has a reduced capability of holding moisture. This inherently dry skin is also exacerbated by external changes, including variations in weather and allergen exposures. Thus the importance of maintaining proper skin patency cannot be overstressed, as slight irritations to atopic skin can result in microfissures, which act as portals of entry for various pathogens. 

The foam density variations of the foamed WPCs with different contents of wood fiber as a function of die temperature are shown in Figure 4. With no gas injection, the density reduction may be due to the volatiles (e.g., moisture or extractives) generated from WF during processing. The addition of 1% exfoliated nano-clay particles decreased slightly the foam density of the composites. This may be because nano-clay particles increase the melt strength and thereby the possibility of gas escape from the extrudate skin decreases.
