Skill 11.1c-Diagram the direction of heat flow in a system 

When two objects are in thermal contact, heat flows from a higher to a lower temperature. In the example to the right, a spoon at room temperature was placed in a hot cup of coffee. Heat will flow from the tea to the spoon (shown by the right diagonal arrow). Heat will also flow from the tea into the air (shown by the small vertical arrows).
