Single stage partial oxidation

Electropox [Electrochemical partial oxidation] Also called Pox. An electrochemical process for oxidizing methane to syngas. It combines the partial oxidation and steam reforming of methane with oxygen separation in a single stage. Invented in 1988 by T. J. Mazanec at BP Chemicals. An industrial-academic consortium to develop the process was formed in 1997. 

Of the other available works on the partial oxidation of methane homologues under SC conditions, it is worthwhile to single out a rather detailed comparative review on the oxidation of isobutane in the liquid phase and imder SC conditions [232]. However, the oxidation of butanes is so complex that, at the current stage of stud)dng the basic pattern of the partial oxidation of light alkanes imder SC conditions, it is hardly advisable to analyze these data. 

The third stage can be realized in two manners. One of them consists in slow decrease of the partial pressure of CO2 over the melt that causes a gradual decrease of the melt acidity and results in small oversaturation values. Hence, the rate of the oxide crystal growth from the melt is low and the crystals are of relatively larger size. This routine may be very promising for obtaining oxide single crystals from the halide melts.
