3 Simple models of excitation Independent excitation model 

In this model a polymer chain is assumed to carry a fixed number / of associative groups, each of which may independently take either an active or inert state. The energy difference between the two states is assumed to be given by AAi. 

In the postgel regime, the variable z in these equations must be replaced by the smaller root z of Flory s condition xx(z) — xa,(z )- The parameter z refers to the conversion of the entire system, while z refers to that of the sol part only.
