Mono- and bis(silyl)platinum(II) complexes are believed to play important catalytic roles in hydrosilylation, dehydrocoupling, and double silylation reactions with disilanes and hydrosilanes. A stable, mono(silyl)platinum(II) complex has been prepared by the oxidative addition reaction of the sterically hindered, primary arylsilane 2,6-Mes2C6H3SiH3 (Mes = 2,4,6-trimethylbenzene) to the platinum(O) species [Pt(PPr3)3] in hexane solution at room temperature.133 The colorless product m-[PLl 1(2,6-Mes2C6II3(11 )2Si)(PPr3)2] (21) was isolated as the OPPr3 adduct, and its... [Pg.689]

The disilanickela compound 21 is not effective in the nickel-catalyzed double silylation reaction with styrene. However, the stoichiometric reaction of 21 with styrene afforded 4,5-carboranylene-l,l,3,3-tetramethyl-2-phenylmethylene-1,3-disilacyclopentane 29. A key feature in the 111 NMR spectmm of 29 includes a singlet at 7.71 ppm assigned to the vinyl proton. A characteristic low-frequency 13C NMR resonance at 139.75 ppm provides evidence for a tethered carbon atom of the two silicon moieties. Unambiguous confirmation was provided by X-ray crystallographic analysis of 29. [Pg.68]

The O-alkyl O-silylphosphonates demonstrate the typical reactivity of phosphonates with a P-H bond. In silylation reactions with chloro silanes in presence of basis O-alkyl 0,0-disilylphosphonates can be synthesized. [Pg.76]

Silylation reactions with silyltriflates progress rapidly at 0 - 20°C, side reactions are therefore suppressed and yields are generally high. Triethylamine seems to be the best auxiliary base, because triethylammoniumtriflate, which is insoluble in nonpolar solvents, precipitates in liquid form. Progress and end of the reaction may therefore be observed by increase of the second (salt) phase. [Pg.362]

Hydrosilylation. Allyl alcohols form cyclic structures in a Rh-catalyzed hydro-silylation reaction with PhiSiHj.- Ring opening occurs during reaction of alkylidene-cyclopropanes.--... [Pg.220]

Hong et al. [29] exploited silylation reactions with proper silane precursors to engineer the pore size of zeolite membrane for hydrogen separation. As a result, H2/CH4 separation selectivity can be increased more than 50% from 35 to 59. [Pg.279]
